Our Story
Established in 2021 by the National Center of Defense Manufacturing and Machining (NCDMM), AMIIC began as a private-public partnership with the Aviation Missile Center’s Manufacturing Science Technology Group. Created to address Alabama’s workforce shortage of 500,000 people, our purpose is to fulfill the urgent demand for manufacturing technology and workforce development, especially in aerospace and defense.
Who Does AMIIC Serve?
We serve as a local point of contact for NCDMM’s core mission – to drive unbiased innovation in the defense manufacturing industry through collaboration efforts with government, industry, and academia. Our network supports warfighters with the best possible technology. Specifically focused on North Alabama and the surrounding areas, we not only seek to build Huntsville as a defense tech hub, but we also serve the community by ensuring that it has the resources necessary to maintain its preeminence in aerospace and defense.
